The Thought of Countyfest is Making it Wiggle with Glee!
Only 25 days until one of the best days of the year! Waking up for Countryfest is a lot like waking up on Christmas, only usually I’m still drunk from the night before. If you have never experienced Countryfest I highly recommend going. Even if you are not a fan of Country music (no one remembers the show anyway).
Anyway, to really appreciate the lineup this year we need to talk about how bad it was last year. Old Dominion, Sam Hunt, and Miranda Lambert, as Eck would say in a Sox broadcast ‘YUCK’. Now Old Dominion isn’t terrible and I was too drunk to get into the show on time last year so they get a pass. But Sam Hunt is garbage, the best part of his show last year was the Ric Flair promo that he played, and even the Nature Boy couldn’t save his show. And I legit took a nap during Miranda’s set list. No lie, I think there is a photo of me floating around passed out in the section 310 of Gillette Stadium. It wouldn’t be the first meme made of me and wont be the last. I didn’t choose the meme life the meme life choose me.
Which brings us to this year, Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett, and Kenneth Arnold Chesney. Old Dominion has come out with some FIRE jams since last year. Most notably ‘No Such Thing as a Broken Heart’, that song will put you in a good mood no matter what. It’s a catchy, upbeat tune that’s perfect to drink to. Next up is Thomas Rhett, which I will admit I’m not the biggest fan of. ‘Die a Happy Man’ is basically a poor mans version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’. BUT his new song ‘Craving you‘ is the song of the Summer. This song fahhhkks and it fahhhhks hahhhd. I’m very excited to see this one live.
And last but not least, the showstopper, Kenneth Arnold Chesney. Kenny is like the Shawn Michaels of Country music. He never gets old and every time he steps on stage puts on a hell of a show. Speaking of Shawn Michaels I have the worlds greatest tank top for Countryfest. If you see me tailgating, don’t be shy. Come up, say hello, hang out for a bit, and give me a beer. Two of my favorite Kenny songs are ‘Summertime‘ and Beer in Mexico’. Both songs make you want to crack open a cold one and enjoy life. And that’s what Countryfest is all about, isn’t it?
